  • What teams do you have for the 2024-2025 season?
For the 2024-2025 season, we have Power level teams only in the age groups of U13-U16, composed of players who not only demonstrate advanced skills and competitive drive but also exhibit strong character, coachability, and teamwork. We will not be fielding Premier level teams for the 2024-2025 season.
  • Who are the coaches for the teams and how can I meet them?
Meet our amazing coaches! The list of coaches for each team can be found here and their individual profiles here. You can also meet and get to know them at our clinics, which is a fantastic opportunity for the athletes to get to know our coaches and for our coaches to start working with the athletes before the season starts.
  • Will my daughter have a shot at making your team?
Absolutely! All positions on our U13 and U14 teams are currently open and we will be evaluating every player closely during open gyms and tryouts, focusing on skills, energy, effort, attitude, coachability, teamwork, potential. Evaluations are ongoing throughout open gyms and tryouts, with team selections based on this comprehensive assessment.
  • What kind of competitive opportunities does NorStar offer?
We participate in Open Division tournaments and national qualifiers throughout the season, offering our players the chance to compete against some of the best teams in the country, fostering growth, resilience, and a competitive edge. Our robust competitive schedule is designed to challenge our athletes and provide exposure to high-level play.
  • Is strength and conditioning training offered by NorStar?
Yes. In addition to skill development, strength and conditioning training is a key component of our program for our players. We are thrilled to have Esi Thompson, our Head Performance and Rehab Coach, leading our athletes in this area. Esi brings a wealth of experience in optimizing athletic performance, injury prevention, and recovery. Under her guidance, our players will have access to tailored strength and conditioning programs designed to improve their overall athleticism and reduce the risk of injury. To learn more about Esi and the rest of our coaches, please visit our team page here.
  • Does NorStar offer private lessons?
We offer semi-private sessions with our experienced coaches, designed to supercharge your volleyball skills, performance and mental toughness. However, due to high demand, we are currently not accepting new clients. Subscribe to our mailing list and we'll notify you as soon as we start accepting new clients!
  • What should I do if a clinic I want to register for is sold out?
Don't worry! If a clinic is full, you can contact us to join the waitlist and we'll notify you if a spot opens. We also recommend checking our website for other upcoming clinics you might be interested in. And remember, spots fill up fast so register early!
  • Can I reschedule or get a refund if my child can’t attend a clinic?
We completely understand that plans can change. However, all clinic registrations are non-refundable. Our clinics operate with fixed costs for staffing, facility rentals, and other resources, so we’re unable to provide refunds. If you need to reschedule, we are happy to accommodate your request as long as it is made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled clinic. Unfortunately, rescheduling requests made within 48 hours cannot be accommodated due to limited availability and high demand of our clinics. Thank you for your understanding! This policy also applies to ur open gyms and tryouts.
  • Are there any discounts or scholarships offered?
NorStar Volleyball offers limited discounts and scholarships to eligible families through our non-profit organization, ThriveSphere Athletics Foundation. Please note that these opportunities are subject to availability and specific eligibility criteria. For more information, please email director@thrivesphereathletics.org.
